Commission Members

Skaggs Wetland

Under Soil Conservation District law (Idaho Code § 22-2718), five Soil & Water Conservation Commission members are appointed by the Governor of the State of Idaho. The current Commission members were appointed on July 1, 2010 and have staggered terms.

Parties interested in applying to serve on the Commission should submit an application to the Office of the Governor.

Dick Bronson, Chairman

Richard “Dick” Bronson is a fourth generation of an Idaho farming family.  As a result, Mr. Bronson has deep roots in Idaho agriculture, including involvement with the Idaho Nursery and Landscape Association and Idaho Horticulture Association. Mr. Bronson has also been a director of the Lower Payette Ditch Company, an officer in the Idaho Irrigation Equipment Dealers Association, and an instructor in the University of Idaho Master Gardner program. Term Expires July 1, 2013.

Dave Radford, Vice Chairman

Dave Radford is a fifth generation Idahoan, born and raised in Idaho Falls. He currently serves as a Bonneville County Commissioner and has been active in his county and community for a number of years. Mr. Radford has been active in local conservation efforts and currently serves as Chair of the High Country Resource Conservation and Development Council, and is also a member of the Idaho Farm Bureau and the Grand Teton Peaks Council Executive Committee. Term Expires July 1, 2014.

Roger Stutzman, Secretary

Roger Stutzman is a second generation farmer and raises sugar beets, sweet corn, beans, wheat, and alfalfa. Mr. Stutzman has been actively involved with local soil conservation efforts for over 25 years and is a past president of the Idaho Association of Soil Conservation Districts. He graduated from Heston College in Kansas and Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia and returned to the family farm after receiving his degrees. Mr. Stutzman is currently serving on both the Idaho Sugar Beet Growers and the American Sugar Beet Growers board of directors. Term Expires July 1, 2015.

H. Norman Wright, Commissioner

Norman Wright was raised on a dairy farm near Caldwell and has degrees in business administration and finance from Boise State University. Mr. Wright has served on the American Falls City Council for the past eight years and is president of the American Falls Lions Club. He brings extensive experience to the Commission, including involvement with the Soil Conservation Service and the Canyon County conservation district, as well as 33 years with the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (now known as Farm Service Agency). Term Expires July 1, 2012.

Jerry Trebesch, Commissioner

Gerald "Jerry" Trebesch is a former agricultural banker with extensive statewide experience and has been heavily involved with agricultural lending since obtaining his degree in agricultural business from Montana State University. He brings a complete understanding of statewide agricultural issues having been based in Rigby, Salmon, St. Maries, Soda Springs, Caldwell, Boise, and Meridian throughout his career. Mr. Trebesch currently lives in Boise and operates a cow-calf operation as well as stocker and feeder cattle. Term Expires July 1, 2016.
